用于额定电压3.6/7.2//12kV，三相交流50/60Hz的电网。作为接受和分配电能，并对电路实行控制、监测和保护使用；还可以用于频繁启动的高压电动机等。具有防止误操作断路器、防止带负荷推拉手车、防止带电关合接地开关、防止接地开关在接地位置时送电和防止误入带电间隔等“五防”功能。开关柜既可配用ABB公司的VD4真空断路器，又可配用国产的VS1真空断路器。
